Employee of the Month Program:

   

The Employee of the Month Program is established to recognize outstanding Performance of the employees and to acknowledge their contributions to OETC. The Program been established since October 2008. The program hopes to encourage quality work, process or continuous improvement, teamwork, savings, customer service, and a high level of dedication. The program recognizes that OETC employees are the source of our strength, reputation and innovation

   

The company has special interest in participating in specialized scientific conferences, whether at the international level or locally in order to provide the opportunity for the staff to interact through the dissemination of scientific researches and access to the scientific researches as well as to the modern technological applications. This also encourage the OETC staff to learn and share their knowledge through participating in the discussion with the professionals in the areas of electrical engineering in general and electricity transmission and networking particularly.

 During February 2008, the company has participated with a number of two engineers in the “IT Security Solution Conference”, from 4th-6th February, 2008.
Also In February 2008, the company participated in the “Power Gen Middle East ", from 4th-6th February, 2008. The participants have discussed and published the following paper:
-Power Sector Restructuring and System Expansion Planning: Omani Experience”
In March2008, the company has participated with a number of four engineers in the “12th International Middle East Power system conferences (MEPCON)”, which was conducted in Aswan- Egypt from12-15 March2008. The participants have discussed and published the following papers:
-“Cyclone’Gonu’ and Reliability of Main Interconnected Transmission System of Oman”.
-Dynamic Load Modeling and Aggregation in Power System Simulation Studies.
-False Operation of Protective Relays in Oman Electricity Power System & Its Remedies.
-Harmonics Content Based Protection Scheme for MICRO- GRIDS Dominated By Solid State Converters.

 

International Conferences & Published Researches:

 

In April2008, the company has participated with a number of two engineers in the “Industrial Applications of Energy Systems (IAES 2008)”, which was organized by the Sohar University conducted in Oman from1st -2nd April2008. The participants have discussed and published the following papers:
-“Aggregation of Static and Dynamic Loads in Power System Studies”.
-“Distribution Trippings & Load Thrown Off Due to Delayed Voltage Recovery”.

In April2008, the company has participated with a number of four engineers in the “IEEE PES Transmission and Distribution conference and Exposition, Chicago, I Illinois, USA,”, which was from 21 -24th April2008.

The participants have discussed and published the following paper:
-“Restoration of a 132 kv Over Head Transmission line affected by Tropical Cyclone Gonu in Oman”.
In November2008, the company has participated with a number of five engineers in the “GCC-Cigre 2008,” which was from 10th -12th November 2008 in Bahrain. The participants have discussed and published the following papers:
-” Beyond the Crossroads: The Challenge of OETC to Provide Service and Grid Reliability”.
