Forcast Load

The system load, measured in MW, is continuously changing. It is influenced by a number of factors such as weather, living patterns and holidays. OETC starts with a forecast and dispatches the generation to balance load and generation. The dispatch is continuously adjusted in real time conditions.

Hourly Freequency

The system frequency, measured in Hertz (or Cycles per seconds) is like the pulse of the electrical grid. This can change any time, and we bring you hourly values of the frequency measurement. Our frequency is nominally of 50.0 Hz value, and Grid Code requires OETC to maintain frequency mostly in 49.9 Hz to 50.1 Hz range, unless it is a disturbed condition. Note that OETC grid is interconnected to GCCIA grid as well as to PDO grid. Hence the frequency is same all through the interconnected grid.

Live Frequency

The system frequency, measured in Hertz (or Cycles per seconds) is like the pulse of the electrical grid. This can change any time, and we bring you minute-wise update of the frequency measurement. Frequency is an indicator of the balance between load and generation. If both are perfectly balanced, the frequency is equal to 50.0 Hz.

Daily Frequency

The system frequency, measured in Hertz (or Cycles per seconds) is like the pulse of the electrical grid. This can change any time, and we bring you hourly values of the frequency measurement for a day.

Total Demand Sharing

We meet the system demand by dispatching power from many generation sources. In a simplified manner, generation from renewables is cheapest, followed by combined cycle generation. The generation from open cycle units is relatively costlier, and is predominantly used to meet the peak load. OETC is obliged to maintain economic dispatch while meeting the security and reliability constraints in the system.

Hourly Actual Freequency

Here is the hourly load, measured in MW, of the system on a 24 hour basis. Note how the load changes at different times of the day.
